On Wednesday 21st April,
Godden Lodge care home’s very own Queen celebrated her 94th birthday, on the same day as Queen Elizabeth II.
Godden Lodge care home Resident Alice Gunn loved celebrating her birthday with the Queen and Colleagues, rightly so, treated her like one for the day.
She happily told staff that her birthday is the same day as the Queen and admires the Queen greatly, as she turns 95.
Alice received many cards, flowers and gifts from her family and friends. She loved the flowers she got for her birthday and wanted them kept in the lounge where she sits, so she can see them through the day.
The kitchen made Alice a special birthday cake plate as well as a cake decorated for the Queen’s birthday, so they could share the celebration. Alice quickly tucked in and wanted to keep the photo of the Queen from the cake.
“It's my birthday, the same day as the Queen, oh I feel so happy,” beamed Alice.
