Experimental ice-cream flavours for Humberston care home ResidentsTo celebrate National Ice Cream Flavours Day, Residents at Clarendon Hall residential and nursing care home, in Grimsby, made their own ice-cream today.

Residents had been soaking some raisins overnight in rum to create a delicious rum and raisin delight, they also made a double chocolate chip and vanilla with strawberry concoction; perfect to eat whilst watching Wimbledon!

The Residents took it in turns stirring the different mixtures and talked about past holidays and occasions when they used to eat ice-creams with their families. This created a lovely atmosphere in the lounge and lots of smiles could be seen all around (especially once the ice-cream was ready to be sampled!)

Everyone particularly enjoyed tasting their creations and reminiscing. Barbara, who lives at the home, commented, “This tastes amazing!”

Stephanie, who is a member of the admin team, remarked, “I do hope there will be some spare for the staff to try too!”
