Flower pressing pictures at Radcliffe homeResidents at Rose Court care home have been taking part in flower pressing to make pictures and brighten up their rooms today.

Over a few days and in small groups of Residents each time offered the option to be able to do the activity in a socially distanced and safe way. The task involved using a special flower press to preserve the life of the flowers so that they can look beautiful for a long time to come.

One of the staff members organising the activity commented, “We spent time reminiscing when doing this, talking of our favourite flowers and what our own garden use to be like, then got on to chatting about the seasons of the year and the changes in flowers and trees”.

A Residents said, after completing the flower pressing, “I really enjoyed doing this and doing something else with the flowers, rather than just chucking them in the bin after use”.

Another added, “I’ve never thought of doing this before its great!”

Home Manager, Karen Davies, said, “This was a lovely activity taking place and the lovely reminiscence taking place too!!”
