From South Africa to Swallownest - Mother and daughter reunitedResidents at HC-One’s Swallownest care home near Sheffield have slowly reintroduced with their family after the homes began to ease visiting restrictions, allowing socially distanced visits in the garden.

Swallonest Resident, Joyce Robinson was the latest Resident to be visited by her family in the homes make shift meeting point. Originally, Joyce’s daughter, Jane was due to fly out before lockdown to come and visit Joyce, but was unable to as the lockdown came too soon.

So, when Jane finally came to visit on 13th August, it made the visit that extra little bit special. It is amazing for Colleagues to see these types of visits mean so much to Residents and Relatives, after putting in so much hard work to make them happen.

Swallownest Resident, Joyce Robinson said: “I can’t tell you what it means to me to be able to see my daughter at last. We have missed so much time together. Thank you so much for arranging this for me it really does mean such a lot to us both.”

Jane is due to fly back to South Africa soon, so being able to book an appointment to see her mam whilst she was in the country, has been amazing for her.

Amanda Field, Swallownest Home Manager said: “It was a very emotional firs visit but so lovely to see them together at last.”
