Furry visitors surprise Wigan care home ResidentsResidents at HC-One’s Westwood Lodge care home were delighted and surprised to be witness to a few furry visitors outside of the home recently.

Five small and furry ducklings had made themselves at home in the garden, after hatching from their eggs recently.

The ducklings’ mother comes back each year, being fed and given water each time by Colleagues, to lay her eggs in the garden before the ducklings are then born.

Over the years, the duck, named by Colleagues as Mildred, has became an important member of the home’s family with Residents especially enjoying her visits each year.

One Resident remarked: “It’s so lovely to see Mildred come back and lay her eggs each year, the ducklings are just adorable.”
