Garden makeover at Tameside care homeAll summer at the Millbrook residential care home, in Stalybridge, Colleagues and Residents have been enjoying the result of all the hard work in the garden as it had a fantastic makeover.

In spring, Residents planted many different seeds in pots, which to everyone’s surprise, all germinated!

They have nurtured them and some Residents even offered their gardening tips and tricks, which is always appreciated! As a result, they have beautiful sweet peas, dahlia, lobelias, marigolds, cornflowers, sunflowers and many others. Now the home has a wonderful bee garden for all to enjoy.

The Residents all have a wonderful time being in the new garden, and visitors have already complimented the beauty of the flowers and the green fingers the Residents have.

To complete the garden, bird feeders were introduced for the Residents to fill and hang, in the hopes that they will get to see some welcome visitors.

The garden is the perfect spot for everyone to take some time to relax and appreciate the scenery.

Residents enjoyed seeing the transformation of the garden and watching the flowers blossom, one Resident commented, “I’ve really enjoyed making the garden look pretty!”

Claire Jones, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Residents have really enjoyed making the garden their own space and taking care of the plants.”
