Residents at HC-One’s Pennwood Lodge care home in Kingswood, Wotton-under-Edge were treated to a delicious pancake-tasting afternoon yesterday to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
Residents prepared their own pancakes with toppings of their choice. The clear winner for the day was chocolate spread, however the traditional lemon and sugar was a close contender.
One Resident commented: “This is lovely. I really enjoyed the pancakes, especially with the chocolate.”
Residents helped themselves to as many pancakes as they wanted as they swapped stories about past Shrove Tuesday and even told Colleagues some of their secret recipes.
Pennwood Lodge Home Manager, Sarah Daly, said: “It was nice to see the Residents enjoying something traditional and it was lovely to hear the stories of when they made their own pancakes at home.”
