Green fingered Residents offer helping hand at Wigan care homeResidents at HC-One’s Ashton View care home in Ashton-in-Makerfield offered a helping hand to plant some fruit and vegetables for the home’s roof top garden.

The home’s ‘green team’ is a group of Residents who enjoy gardening and often help the team to maintain the grounds, Patricia, who recently became part of the Ashton View community has joined the ‘green team’ and helped plant some fruit and vegetables. 

Everyone enjoys chatting and sharing stories as they are working, some even offer their gardening tips and wisdom which is always appreciated. Residents are looking forward to harvesting their crop and tasting the result of their hard work when the kitchen team prepare meals with the home-grown goods.

Ashton View Home Manager, Demelza James said: “It’s lovely to see our Residents continuing their passion for gardening or starting a new hobby when they become part of our ‘green team’, I look forward to seeing all of the fruit and vegetables they are growing.”

Located on Wigan Road, Ashton View offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care, nursing care or memory care for those living with dementia.
