Green-fingered Sunderland care home Resident helps out in the gardenA keen Resident at HC-One’s Falstone Court in Sunderland recently helped out in the homes garden, rekindling his skills as a gardener that he enjoyed when he was younger.

Falstone Court Resident, Bill Jarvis, who has always been a keen gardener and loves to be out in the garden, recently helped the homes wellbeing coordinator, Amanda Ward, spruce up the floral arrangements outside the home.

Bill and Amanda had lots of fun, planting fresh bulbs in planters and maintaining the existing plants. They also helped fix the lights on the homes wishing well.

Falstone Court Resident Bill Jarvis said: “I love being out in the garden.”

Gardening helps keep elderly general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints; it also helps the elderly with balance resulting in less falls and also keeps blood pressure at bay.
