Green fingers at Manor House care homeThe Residents of Manor House care home in Upwood, had green fingers this week, after a lovely donation of bedding plants from local Parkhall Garden Centre.

Activities Coordinator, Jess Southwood (pictured), organised for everyone to be able to get involved in sprucing up the outdoor estate, not only for a project but to create a prettier outdoor space. Whether that be sowing the seeds or taking in turns to water each plant.

Our Residents, including Winnie, Mary, Emily and Margaret showed their interest by helping to plant the various types of plants in raised planters and hanging baskets. The most enthusiastic Resident, Winnie, was nominated as Head Gardener to lead the newly formed ‘Residents Gardening Club’.

One Residents commented, “"I like planting flowers to look at."

Another added, "Well I am looking forward to watching them come out in bloom."

Manor House hope to continue the popular gardening club, and eventually be able to compete in the annual HC-One Gardening Competition.

Manor House certainly have a natural ability to grow plants!
