Guisborough care home Residents celebrate VE DayResidents at HC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on this beautiful Early May Bank Holiday.

Although the originally planned celebration could not go ahead, Park House Residents still wanted to mark the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. Park House on Park Lane in Guisborough had a Union Jack flag flying out the front of the building and paid tribute to the people of the war generation with music and a sing-a-long.

Park House Kitchen staff also made Residents some lovely 75th Anniversary cupcakes with special toppers and they were served with tea and coffee and for those who wanted it, prosecco with strawberries.

One Park House Resident said: “The prosecco and strawberries were a lovely treat, it was such a lovely day and the sun stayed out for it too.”

The team at Park House decorated the lounges and rooms with flags and bunting and the Residents had their own flags to wave as they had a toast at 3.pm. and sang the National Anthem.

Park House Home Manager Julie Woods said: “It was lovely that the Residents marked this occasion with respect and comradery.”
