Guisborough care home thank local business for Union Jack donationColleagues at HC-One’s Park House in Guisborough sent a thank you poster to their local Morrisons branch, to be displayed on their community board.

Back in June, Park House Residents asked if they could fly a Union Jack flag in the garden in honour of all the armed forces, it fluttered in the breeze and was a fitting tribute to them, which the Residents were delighted by.

However, their delight turned to upset and distress when the flag was stolen from the garden in broad daylight. Colleagues put an appeal out for information to try and get their flag back but without success.

Staff at Morrisons had heard about the homes upset, one of them being Lucy the weekend duty manager and she very kindly organised, with other members of staff, the funding to replace the lost flag.

Park House Residents were delighted to have their new Union Jack ready for Remembrance Sunday. Resident Lesley was delighted to act as the homes ‘forces sweetheart’ and pin up to help display the flag.

Park House Home Manager, Joe Presho said: “We just wanted to say a huge thankyou to Morrisons for funding the new flag, it restores your faith in humanity.”
