Guisborough care home welcome Relatives Christmas ChoirResidents at HC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough were visited by some regular faces before Christmas, as their family and friends performed in a Christmas Choir.

On the 22nd of December, Park House enjoyed a lovely Carol Concert, socially distanced in the car park. The choir chose beautiful carols and delivered them well, but this choir was no ordinary choir because it was made up of Resident’s family members in their own bubbles.

A Resident’s daughter had put an appeal out on a local web site asking if anyone had loved ones, family or friends in Park House, that they would like to sing for them this Christmas and that they were meeting in the home’s car park for a 3pm start.

The response was fantastic and the choir had a good turnout.  A Resident of the Guisborough community, who was a Scots Guard drummer, wanted to come along too and he looked resplendent in his full uniform as he sang with the choir and did a couple of drum solos.

Colleagues at Park House cleared the dining room on the ground and first floors so that they could position the Residents at the windows so they could see and hear their families and friends.  The Residents joined in well and a lot of joy was brought to the home. Photographs were taken of the families in their bubbles to print out for the Resident’s rooms.

Park House Home Manager, Julie Woods said: “I want to say a big thank you to the family member who had organised this and all the family members who took part. The idea is inspiring.”
