Harvest Festival display brings excitement to Glasgow care homeResidents at HC-One’s Ailsa Craig care home in Glasgow recently helped Colleagues stuff some scarecrows for the homes Harvest Festival display, which is now finished.

Ailsa Craig Residents Irys Linsey and Florence Campbell helped wellbeing coordinator Donna to help make a scarecrow for the home Harvest Festival display earlier in the month and is now situated as the centrepiece of the homes display.

On September 20th, Donna took Residents from all three units in the home on a stroll around the garden to see the display where she explained a little about Harvest Festival to the Residents and what it all entails. Residents then had their pictures took with the scarecrows and buntings. All of the Residents absolutely loved the display and thought Donna, Irys and Florence had done a wonderful job.

One Ailsa Craig Resident said: “Oh it looks wonderful, it’s just marvellous.”

A harvest festival is an annual celebration that occurs around the time of the main harvest of a given region. Given the differences in climate and crops around the world, harvest festivals can be found at various times at different places.
