Harvest is a time for thanksgiving at Northwich care home
Harvest Festival was special in its own way this year for Daneside Court care home, in Cheshire.

The home’s table was dressed with baskets full of fruit and vegetables and a wonderful Harvest sheaf was on display (created by Residents).

“We celebrated Harvest by Singing ‘We plough the Fields and scatter’, ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and ‘Amazing Grace’,” explained one Colleague.

The afternoon was a time of reflection and an afternoon in which Residents gave blessing, read poetry and asked fellow Residents and Colleagues to take the time to reflect upon those Residents that had past and our loved ones. But also, just as important looking, forward to the future and our Health.

The afternoon was very emotional, and a few tears did fall. The afternoon was a great success and everyone also made a toast to each other and for a rosy future.

Residents thought it was a, “Beautiful afternoon,” and enjoyed Reminiscing about Harvest and the Residents reading the Blessing and Poetry.

Samantha Farahat, Manager at Daneside Court, said, “(It was) lovely seeing our Residents reading Poetry and giving thanks and blessing. A very emotional afternoon, one I shall remember for a long time.”
