Hatfield care home Residents celebrate key dates in MarchResidents at HC-One’s St Christopher’s care home in Hatfield celebrated Mother’s Day on 14th March and enjoyed a little tipple on St Patricks Day.

On Mothering Sunday, St Christopher's hosted a tea party to celebrate all the mum's, Nan's and great Nan's residing in the home. Residents played games and reminisced about their families, with Colleagues, and what life was like raising a family many years ago compared to now.

Resident Molly said "I have had a wonderful time, if only my son was here he would know all of the people in our photo quiz.”

The tea party was a very good opportunity to make new friends, due to a recent coming together of two communities, everyone was talking and taking time to find out about each other and it was a very special moment.

The Residents all received a card and all enjoyed a slice of cake and some of the Residents even enjoyed a glass of Prosecco. It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all.

On Wednesday the home celebrated St Patrick's Day. The day was enjoyed by everyone involved. Residents enjoyed an afternoon party across all communities, where the Residents could all enjoy themselves.

The kitchen staff made a lovely buffet with all sorts of different foods for Residents to eat and some also enjoyed a Guinness or a Baileys Hot Chocolate. Colleagues and Residents listened to some Irish music in the decorated lounges and some had a sing song.

The Residents that wanted to, dressed up with hats and lei's. After the parties began to wind down, it was time for Lord of the Dance. The carers got involved and put on a little Irish jig which the Residents all enjoyed laughing at, in which ended up being such a lovely afternoon which was filled with fun.
