Hayes care home takes advantage of the sunshineResidents at Aston House Care Home in Hayes, Middlesex were delighted to embrace the wonderful summer sunshine and the warm weather together with some chilled drinks today.

Whilst much of the UK is experiencing heavy winds and showers, Residents at this care home enjoyed sitting in the garden and making the most of the wonderful weather as they reminisced with one another about the memories they shared of their good old days.

Aston House’s Wellbeing Coordinator said, “During this unprecedented time of the pandemic, our Residents go through difficult times. But it is important to us that we carry on as normal and enjoy each day.

“The home has a beautiful garden and it's lovely to be surrounded by beautiful greenery here, so with the sun shining it felt so lovely to get our Residents out and about, and all the staff just loved seeing the Residents happy, relaxed and smiling”.

Truly, nature itself can provide stimulation and give Residents the chance to use their senses by being able to see, touch, smell, feel and hear the sounds of the outdoors.

Nature can be our best friend to be with.

One Resident commented: "I love being in the sunshine, it's a lovely way to spend the afternoon."

Seema Sandeep-Jose, the care home’s Manager, said, "The weather makes everyone so happy to be outside, the feeling of the sunshine on their faces makes them feel so relaxed".
