Henley care home Resident celebrates 90th birthdayJean, a Resident at HC-One’s Thamesfield care home, was delighted as she celebrated her 90th birthday with fellow Residents at the home.

Born in Irchester, Jean has enjoyed a varied life, mostly spending her career as a landlady of a local pub – The Reformation – for many years alongside husband Cyril. Over the years, she has developed a keen interest in painting as she regularly enjoys creating masterpieces in between her love of knitting and reading.

Coming from a large family, Jean proudly has three children including a daughter and two sons, alongside seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She remarks her secret to long life as remaining in close contact with her family and friends, as well as a nightly tipple of gin and tonic!

To celebrate the wonderful occasion, Colleagues at the home decorated the dining room with balloons, banners and streamers and present Jean with a celebratory glass of prosecco before she sat to enjoy lunch with her fellow Residents. Everyone sat to sing ‘happy birthday’ before presenting her with a specially decorated birthday cake.

Jean remarked at how wonderful the day was. Lina Nela, Home Manager, commented: “We are delighted to have celebrated this day with Jean, we hope she thoroughly enjoyed herself.”
