Colleagues at HC One’s Hinckley Park care home have brought a bit of Las Vegas to the home.
Thanks to coronavirus, travel to anywhere other than the supermarket is nigh on impossible. So the Hinckley care home decided to bring the excitement of Las Vegas into the home.
Everything was there, from cards to roulette to the music to the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
Residents had a choice of drinks and snacks (all complimentary, of course!) before settling in to place their bets on either a hand of cards or the roulette wheel. In a flurry of excitement, fake money was won, and lost!
Once everyone had had their fill of gambling, staff entertained Residents with some fitting karaoke (think Elvis in Vegas!) and served another round of drinks.
It may not have been the real Vegas but, for a few short hours, we were able to forget about what was happening out in the world.
Richard, one of the Residents, commented “I've never been to Vegas but wouldn't mind visiting now. You've done a great job, cheers!”
