Hurst Cross Residents watch Easter chicks hatchColleagues and Residents at Kings Park care home, which offers nursing memory care, were over the moon to see that the incubated eggs they have, had hatched into chicks.

Residents have been able to watch the eggs hatch and grow, this has sparked many sharing their own memories of taking care of chickens in the past. Bill, who lives at Kings Park, was especially surprised at how fast they grew.

Those Residents who were unable to watch them hatch were show a video of the eggs hatching on a table.

Len, also a Resident, remarked, “It’s lovely to watch them. I used to have chickens myself when I was much younger.”

Also this week, there has been even more good news as the totals for the Easter raffle, which was held to raise funds for the Residents comfort fund, raised a fantastic £358!

Home Manager, Lisa Joy, commented, “Seeing the Residents react to the chickens was lovely.”

“Well done to all who won the raffle. What a great boost to the comforts fund!”
