Huyton home Residents get their hands dirtyWellbeing Coordinator, Anne, who works at Knowsley Manor in Liverpool, took Residents, on a one to one basis, around the garden to plant new plants today.

All Residents that took part including, Jean, Kath, James, Mary, Josie, Joan thoroughly enjoyed it; especially some of the ladies who used to frequently potter about in the garden at their previous home.

After all the seeds and shrubs were planted, the Residents then had their lunch in the garden (thankful of a dry day!). Resident Kath sat in the sun with a glass of Merlot, as this is what she enjoys most, told Colleagues stories of how her and her husband would travel the world and that she had tasted some of the best wine in the world!

Each Resident had some very different views when it came to gardening - some liked using their hands and didn't mind the mess, whereas others would like to keep this in an orderly manner.

Anne commented, “Most of the Residents spoke about memories they had from home, it was lovely to hear and enjoyable to see the Residents gardening and listening to their stories.”
