Kings Park nursing home country and western dayLast month, Colleagues at Kings Park hosted a rainbow themed afternoon With Elvis and the Karaoke on. It went down as such a big hit with everyone, so Staff dressed in their best cowboy costumes this week to join Residents in a country karaoke lead by Senior Carer, Gail.

Resident Michael joined Gail in a duet to sing ‘Islands in a Stream’ while other Residents danced with the support of the staff. Michael said that he, “Always likes to sing, music brings back all kinds of memories!”

Staff and Residents posed for their photo in a ‘Most Wanted’ poster.

Everybody was in high spirits and had a really fun afternoon. Visits were made to those Residents who were nursed in their room so that they could participate too.

The Residents were particularly enjoying Gail’s singing and the dancing. Paula had said, “That was great, I’m so glad I came now. Another Resident, Len, said, “We need a bit of fun sometimes don’t we?”

The Home Manager commented, “Everyone had a lovely time, they thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment by Gail”.

Next month’s theme will be speakeasy and 1920s themed.
