Leeds care home Residents send out powerful messageHC One’s Rievaulx care home took individual photos of Residents to share their message to stay at home during this difficult time as they went to war for us.

The Colleagues at the Leeds home created this photograph, which shows a number of Residents holding up cards to display the message ‘We went to war for you, stay at home for us’.

This picture creates a powerful message to make people think of what Residents have already faced being a part of the war, and that we all need to do our bit in this new battle against the virus.

One of the lady Residents in the photo was a young girl who worked as a switchboard operator when the war was going on, and another worked as a machinist making parachutes.

It was fascinating for the Colleagues at the home to hear stories from the war and what jobs Residents had during it.

Seeing this image really does help you realise that the task of staying indoors to keep family, friends and neighbours safe isn’t a big ask. We are all in this together and will make it through, keeping everybody safe in the meantime.

The home manager commented “As the home manager I was exceptionally proud to see the Residents come together to spread the word with this photo!”
