Leeds care home welcomes new feathered friendsResidents at HC-One’s Augustus Court care home in Garforth, Leeds were pleased to welcome some new feathered friends in to the world.

The home took part in a chick hatching programme with Living Eggs, the eggs were delivered to Augustus Court with contactless delivery following government coronavirus guidelines. Residents enjoyed watching the eggs slowly hatch in their incubator, when it was time to transfer the seven chicks from the incubator to the brooder box everyone was very excited to hold them.

The chicks quickly brought smiles to the faces of everyone at the care home, Residents enjoyed watching the chicks run around in their box, Masie commented: “They’ve brought a tear to my eye, just beautiful.”

Everyone was sad when the chicks to move on from Augustus Court to their permanent home but agreed that it was lovely to watch the chicks come in to the world and see them grow.

Augustus Court Home Manager, Julia Davison said: “Thank you so much to Living Eggs, the chicks have brought so much joy and happiness to us all at Augustus Court.”
