Leicester care home celebrates 75th anniversary of VE DayColleagues and Residents at HC One’s Harley Grange care home spent today celebrating VE Day.

Staff at the Leicester care home decorated the lounge area with flags and old photographs celebrating the end of WWII.

The dining room was set out to look just like a ‘street party’ as the home has had to adapt their normal celebrations due to social distancing.

Spam sandwiches and jam ones were on the buffet, along with British staples such as scones with jam and cream, sausage rolls, pork pies and some cupcakes with coloured icing and flags.

The weather was lovely so everybody was able to enjoy sitting in the garden with a choc ice and waving flags. It was a fantastic atmosphere and a day to remember.

One of the Residents commented “It was a great day, indoor street party was something different!”
