Lewisham care home Resident takes trip down memory lane on her 96th birthdayA very special Resident at HC-One’s Alexander care home in Lewisham, London turned 96 this April and celebrated it with her family and a trip down memory lane.

On Monday 12th April the Residents and staff of Alexander Care Home helped Mrs Dorothy Jean Richardson celebrate her 96th birthday.

Dorothy, who originally comes from West London, was visited by her daughter and son-in-law who were able to share some of Dorothy’s memories from when she was a child growing up in Summerfield Avenue in West London.

When Dorothy was a child, her mother used to ask her to polish the tiles on the front door step of the house before she left to go to school. Colleagues wanted to show Dorothy what the house looked like today so they went onto Google Maps and just as they thought, the home looked exactly as she remembered it to be.

A very special day indeed,

The family wanted to express gratitude for what had been done and especially the delicious birthday cake which was enjoyed by all in the home.

In a quiet, residential area of Lewisham, Alexander is a friendly, purpose-built home with 78 beds, which offers residential, residential memory care, nursing and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
