Local school donates protective face shields to Durham care homeTeam members at HC-One’s Melbury Court care home in Durham were delighted to receive a thoughtful donation from the pupils and teachers at Framwellgate School.

Pupils at Framwellgate School have been busy making protective face shields for staff in local care homes and hospitals as part of one of their class projects.

The team at Melbury Court were delighted when a teacher from the school visited the home with 30 face shields, which are an important part of the PPE required for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Everyone at Melbury Court were amazed at the quality of the face shields, with one Resident commenting: “How lovely that the children are creating items that will keep those caring for others safe.”

Melbury Court Home Manager, Mandy Hurst said: “What a wonderful gesture from the pupils and staff at Framwellgate School, it’s truly heart-warming to see how the community comes together to support each other during such uncertain times.”
