Making cakes at Ghyll Grove care homeToday Lyn, the Wellbeing Coordinator on Medway Unit at HC-One’s Ghyll Grove care home, has been making cakes with the Residents with an extra special touch to them.

Lyn kindly went out and bought all ingredients so that a mini ‘bake-off’ could be organised. Residents then made and decorated the cakes while chatting and talking about old times. The cakes were then carefully placed together to form the shape of a flower bouquet (see picture).

Afterwards everyone had a well-deserved break with a nice cup of tea and a cake; everyone said that they tasted amazing.

One Colleague, at this Basildon home, commented, “The Residents all loved having a chat and of course tasting the cakes after they were made. In fact, the day was so successful that we are going to arrange another day for making cakes in the coming weeks”.
