Manchester care home rewinds back 40 yearsEvery month, at HC-One’s Westwood Lodge care home, on Helmsman Way, the Wellbeing Coordinators set the stage to allow Residents to travel back in time for the day. And this month, they went back to the 1980’s.

The home brings Residents famous foods and drinks that originated from that era and for this decade there was a beautifully set up trolley with Battenberg cakes, garlic bread sticks, chicken satays and… of course, the traditional English trifle, see pictured.

The Residents enjoy seeing the various trolleys each month and the surprise that the trolley brings.

Phillip Burke, who lives at Westwood Lodge, remarked, “I enjoy trying all the different foods that the girls bring, it brightens up my day.”

Home Manager, Lorraine Young, commented, “Our themed days really do go down incredibly well with the Residents, especially the food which is a lovely treat and something a bit different.”
