Manchester home hosts their own awards ceremonyResidents and Colleagues at HC One’s Averill House have been receiving kind donations and getting ready to present these in their awards ceremony.

The Manchester care home has been planning an awards ceremony to show appreciation to the staff during this difficult time.

The local community have been getting involved to help with gifts for the ceremony, including a donation of £20 from the local Tesco and some lovely bath bombs from a lovely lady in the community.

A local youngster who runs her own wax melt company has sent in some goodies too, as well as items from Relatives, Mr Edwards has donated numerous items to the cause.

The home has been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community, and now have plenty of gifts ready to give out to the staff.

There was over 25 gifts ready by the time the ceremony arrived, and the home made a real celebration of it with a lovely buffet to tuck into as well.

It was great to be able to show gratitude to the hard work all the staff at Averill House have put in throughout the pandemic, and as they always do.

The lounge was decorated ready for giving out the awards and the head housekeeper and domestic team won the ‘best team award’ and the chef won ‘employer of the month’.

Everyone cheered and clapped for the staff, it was lovely to see the joy on everyone’s face and receiving much deserved praise.
