Manchester home kept busy with projectsResidents and Colleagues at HC One’s Averill House have been busy creating a harvest festival display and getting a tiki bar up and running.

Residents and Colleagues have had a lot going on at the Manchester care home and have been kept busy with two different projects.

Firstly Residents have been working hard on their garden project with the help of a fundraiser, which the home raised £450 towards a garden bar.

The home was was gifted £50 from a Residents family member Brian Ford, and £200 from a local pub owner, Mark Sweetland - who owns the Fairway pub. The final £200 was raised with an online raffle. The community have been amazing with all the support they have shown the home.

Colleagues and Residents have painted and decorated the new tiki bar and enjoyed a cocktail afterwards to celebrate their hard work.

Next up was the harvest festival display where Residents have been helping to create a baby scarecrow.

They have also been creating harvest festival display pictures using different mediums such as tissue paper, card, paint, glitter – you name it! These are all now posted up in the foyer of the home above the donation box which is filling up with toiletries from the local community.
