Mansfield home host buffet and party for VJ dayResidents at Berryhill care home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, remembered VJ day by watching the service of remembrance and listening to music from the Armed Forces on the television followed by two minutes of silence with HC-One Colleagues and fellow Residents.

Everyone joined in with a special VJ themed quiz produced by the Royal British Legion; questions were read out by Wellbeing Coordinator Claire Brown.

Then at 2pm there was the party and buffet which had music, dancing and food prepared by Deb Pearson, part of the catering team.

Everyone particularly enjoyed watching the service as well as the decorations in the lounge which consisted of VJ Day – 75 years posters.

Resident Tony Goody said he enjoyed the day and thought it was very interesting as everyone learned about how different nations joined forces against Japan.
