Mitcham care home Residents celebrate Easter weekendResidents at HC-One’s Fieldway care home in Mitcham enjoyed Easter weekend celebrations that included flower arranging, Easter bonnet craft sessions and of course, feasting on some beautiful chocolate eggs.

One of the activities that Residents thoroughly enjoyed together was flower arranging. The Residents were given a range of beautiful flowers to cut to size and arrange in a beautiful vase.

The flowers in the vase were then used to decorate the tables at their good Friday meal. This activity sparked a lot of discussions between the Residents about flowers and gardening, especially those Residents that used to be gardeners themselves.

Colleagues also held a tea party on Easter Sunday for the Residents in the lounge where there was lots of cakes and snacks alongside some music and everyone had a wonderful time.

The wellbeing team then made the Residents a little gift along with the help from the home’s administration team, which was a real team effort.

Lindsay, a Resident at Fieldway said: "This is a lovely idea, thank you to you loving and caring staff for putting smile on our faces.”

Colleagues made the Residents an individual flannel bunny that included a chocolate egg or a mini toiletry so everybody was included. Residents found these a great idea and so much appreciation was showed.

Fieldway care Home Manager Dahlia Clarke: “It was very heart-warming to see the happiness on faces at this special time of year.”
