Morpeth care home Resident celebrates with newlywed granddaughter over video callA Resident at HC-One’s Foxton Court care home in Morpeth recently celebrated her granddaughters wedding over video call after Colleagues went the extra mile to make the day that extra bit special.

Friday 25th of September was the day that Foxton Court Resident Molly Hall’s granddaughter, Jennie was to say ‘I do’ to her fiancĂ©, Chris. Unfortunately, due to coronavirus restrictions, Molly was unable to attend the ceremony and following celebrations in person, but she was invited to a video call over What’s App.

On the morning of Friday 25th, before the wedding ceremony had begun, Molly visited Foxton Court’s home salon with wellbeing coordinator, Stacey, to have her hair washed and set as well as having her nails filed and painted a shell colour. Molly loved having her makeup on and her Chanel lipstick.

Molly then got dressed in her best velvet skirt and blouse which she only wears on special occasions, accessorised with her pearls and a spritz of perfume. Molly certainly looked the part and couldn’t wait to join the video call to see Jennie and Chris.

Molly sat waiting for the call which was due to be a 2pm with a glass of champagne, excited to hear all about her granddaughter special day. Around 2pm Molly was greeted by the newlyweds who video called her. Molly heard all about the ceremony and could see Jennie, her new grandson in law and her daughter Margaret all looking beautiful in their wedding suits and dresses, “the dresses look so beautiful and everyone looks great, I am so pleased to see them all even if it wasn't in person, it was still special.” said Molly.

Margaret, Molly’s daughter said “It was so special for my mum to be part of the wedding and words cannot describe how we felt that Stacey had made the full day lovely for my mum doing the thing she would have done if she could have attended in person, the photographer was so touched, they were brought to tears.”

Stacey, Foxton Court wellbeing coordinator said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a virtual wedding and something that I have not done before. It’s great to see Residents and family still being able to see each other in these strange times.”

Later in the afternoon, Molly’s family sent some wedding photos through which were printed off and laminated for her to enjoy in the home, Molly was keen and very proud to show off her beautiful Family.

Foxton Court Home Manager, Joanne Bulford said: “What a great afternoon Molly had and she looked absolutely great.”
