Musical ice-cream cart makes its debut at Oakhill House care homeThe hospitality and wellbeing teams at Oakhill House in Horsham, Sussex, joined forces to create a mobile ice cream cart for the enjoyment of the Residents.

Jules Long and Christopher Woolridge, Wellbeing Coordinators wanted to organise an activity that would not just be a treat for the eyes but for the ears and tummy too!

Tubs of different flavoured ice-cream sat in a bain-marie filled with ice cubes. Scoops of ice-cream were served either in cones or dishes, (according to the Resident's preference).  Sauces and sprinkles were also available so everyone could make their own concoction.

Jingle van tunes heralded the arrival of the cart which brought back happy memories for the Residents.  The vast majority of them leapt at the chance of a cool treat during the exceptionally hot weather. See pictured Residents Jessie and Dorothy tucking into their ice-creams.

Shaun Matthews, Home Manager, said, “This is a great hydration boost for Residents during exceptionally hot weather and it is clear that they all enjoyed it. Well done team!”
