Betty Phillips, a Resident who has recently came to HC One’s White Rose House care home, has brought along her pet budgie with her, Billy.
At the beginning of August a new resident came to join the Holmfirth care home and wanted to bring along Billy too.
Before coming to the home, Betty lived in her own house alone with her beloved budgie Billy.
When Betty knew she was going to be moving into a care home she was quite worried that Billy would not be able to join her. However the team at White Rose love pets and understand how much they mean to their owners. Most of the staff at home have pets and so know how important this would be for Betty.
All the necessaries were put in place and risk assessments completed, and when Betty came she was able to bring her boy Billy. Betty says she is so happy she was able to bring Billy as she couldn’t imagine being without him.
