New sensory equipment for Hyde Nursing ResidentsAt Hyde nursing and nursing memory care home, Hyde Nursing, one Colleague has been very busy seeking new activity equipment.

After a conversation with Home Manager Irina, Wellbeing Coordinator Adam Perkins set out to search for some new sensory equipment to help make his activities more accessible for those living with advanced dementia, and the new items went down amazingly!

Instead of just a normal armchair aerobics session, Adam managed to perform the session using the new aroma therapy machine which also plays soothing sounds, and instead of just using a normal ball to throw, he used all different shapes and feelings to ensure each Resident was able to enjoy the session.

Adam commented, “I'm very happy with the new equipment and believe it will be a way of making activities and sessions more inclusive.”
