Newcastle care home receives generous donationA generous donation was made to HC-One’s Sutherland Court care home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne by Rosalyn Wightman, the daughter of Margaret Miler, a Resident at the home.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rosalyn has kept herself busy crocheting and decided to make some beautiful lap blankets for the Residents at Sutherland Court.

Everyone at the care home were impressed with the blankets and how well they were made, when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted Rosalyn has kindly offered to hold some crochet classes for the Residents at the care home.

Rosalyn Wightman commented: “Hopefully these will keep the Resident’s knees warm when they are having garden visits.”

Sutherland Court Home Manager, Karen Stewart said: “Thank you to Rosalyn, these blankets are amazing and will be very much appreciated by all of our Residents. We look forward to welcoming you back in to Sutherland Court for crochet classes when we are able to.”

Located on Sutherland Avenue, Sutherland Court care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.
