Nottingham care home Residents celebrate the life of Captain Sir TomThe Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Silverwood care home in Beeston, Nottinghamshire have been celebrating the incredible life of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

They enjoyed an afternoon of champagne or beer with cheese, biscuits and crisps. Some Residents chatted about Captain Sir Tom while others enjoyed a sing and a dance to pay tribute to the incredible man.

One Resident commented: “He was a wonderful man raising all that money. It’s a lovely day.”

Many Colleagues decided to join in the fun as well and sang and chatted with the Residents as they served champagne and played music.

The afternoon of fun was to pay tribute to Captain Tom, a British Army officer, who raised over £30 million for the NHS by walking 100 lengths of his garden for his 100th birthday.

Silverwood Home Manager, Debra Meynell, said: “It’s so good to get together and celebrate.”
