Nottingham care home Resident helps build new planterA keen handyman at HC-One’s Willow Brook care home in Nottingham helped Colleagues put together one of the homes new planters all ready for the summer.

Melvyn Wilson, who resides at Willow Brook has always been a keen handyman. He has worked many manual jobs throughout his life and definitely has the steady hand to take on such a task. 

Colleagues purchased some planters for the garden, ready for summer and for Residents to go out and do a spot of gardening. Upon learning about the new purchases, Melvyn was keen to help Colleagues put them together. 

After a short while, Melvyn had put together one of the planters and was as proud as punch at the finished product, “I was only glad to help, anytime,” he beamed.

Willow Brook Home Manager said: “Melvyn is obviously very handy and it’s important that Residents feel needed and that they can contribute to the home in some way.”

“Thanks very much Melvyn, you have done a cracking job.”
