Residents at HC One’s Silverwood care home have really been taking to using WhatsApp to communicate with their loved ones.
Most of the Residents at the Nottingham care home have got to grips with using WhatsApp so they can keep in contact with family and friends.
The home has a booking system to make sure that everybody has a slot and turn to use the tablet to access the app. The tablet is light and easy to use too.
It is apparent for the staff to see how much these weekly chats reduce the Resident anxiety and enhances their wellbeing. Relatives have commented that their loved ones are happy and safe.
One of the Residents commented “I enjoyed that, it was good to talk to them, it really was, thank-you.”
This app is perfect when birthdays come around too, it’s a lovely way to make sure special memories are still made even when in lockdown.
