Oldbury care home Residents enjoy VE celebrationsResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Dingle Meadow care home enjoyed an afternoon of celebrations as they came together to commemorate VE day.

The home was decorated with flags and red and white roses whilst Residents sat to enjoy a traditional fish and chip dish served in authentic packaging.

Strawberries and ice cream were served for all to enjoy as everyone in the home sat to watch Winston Churchill’s speech before observing a few minutes of silence in honour of those who fought.

Music played throughout the day, with Residents’ favourite ‘We’ll meet again’ sang by Vera Lynn playing throughout the home.

A great day was had by all. Emma Cuttress, home manager, commented: “Such a lovely day has been enjoyed by everyone in the home. We have loved commemorating such an important occasion.”
