Pen friends, birthdays, a goodbye and new pod from Pytchley Court2021 has got off to a very busy start for HC-One’s Pytchley court care home, in Brixworth, with lots of news coming from the home.

What a busy month January has been for birthdays at Pytchley Court care home, Audrey, Arthur, Sheila and Gladys have all celebrated their birthdays, clocking a huge 372 years between them! Everyone enjoyed their birthdays and especially their cakes (see pictured).

Residents and Colleagues would also like to express a huge thank you to Melanie and her fantastic students for sending such lovely handmade Christmas cards from College De Magny in France.

Iris, who lives at Pytchley Court, has opened up a pen friend club, where Residents will be writing to the students regularly. Fellow Resident, Audrey, really enjoyed sending a thank you card and writing it herself, which she said made her feel important and happy.

Also, this month, the home has said goodbye to Doctor Rhianna who is leaving. Colleagues and Residents have said they will miss Rhianna and Residents enjoyed making her a ‘Sorry you’re leaving card”.

Home Manager, Sue Watson, remarked, “Your kindness and friendship showed to both Residents and staff and you will be missed.”

Rhona, who lives at Pytchley Court, enjoyed giving Rhianna her card.

The final piece of news coming from Pytchley Court is, after many months of window visits, phone calls and video chats, the visiting pod has arrived for the home. Residents are very excited for when the lockdown finished, so they will be able to see their loved ones regularly, indoors and in a safe and secure environment.

Sue added, “Thank you to everyone that has made this possible!”
