Peterlee care home Residents create colourful bird boxesHC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee worked with police and schools in the community to create beautiful bird boxes to provide shelter and food for local wildlife.

Residents at Grampian Court were delighted to work with police officers and Howletch Primary School pupils to create bird boxes to be displayed in the home’s grounds. Everyone worked together to paint the boxes and create bird seed balls which will feed the local Aves.

Fifteen bird boxes were created and have now been placed in various locations surrounding the home, Residents are enjoying watching the birds using the new boxes. 

Emma Hume, Home Manager at Grampian Court said: “Our Residents loved making the bird boxes with the support of our local children and police officers, it’s great to see more wildlife around our home.”
