Peterlee care home Residents enjoy some indoor gardeningResidents at HC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee are keeping busy during and staying safe during the COVID-19 outbreak with some indoor gardening.

Margaret, Maureen and Ellen came together to plant some marigolds, sweet peas and sunflower seeds which are going to be kept in the indoor greenhouse. The ladies chatted as they planted their seeds and shared their favourite memories of growing flowers and plants in their own gardens.

Once the flowers have started to bloom, the Residents plan to move them into hanging baskets which will be proudly displayed in the home’s garden.

One Resident commented: “I love gardening, I found it very relaxing planting the seeds and chatting with such lovely people.”

Emma Hume, Home Manager at Grampian Court said: “It’s wonderful to see our Residents continuing to do the things they enjoy during these uncertain times, we are all excited to watch the flowers grow.”
