Piano concerto performance at Wigston care homeAvis, a Resident at HC One’s Magna care home, treated everyone to a beautiful piano performance today.

Everyone at the Wigston care home enjoyed this afternoon's entertainment, provided by Resident Avis on her upright Piano based on the ground floor lounge, accompanied by Audrey the homes Deputy Manager.

Avis enjoyed playing to the Residents and training Audrey how to play like her.

Avis has had a passion for music all her life and started an orchestra for orphans in the Leicestershire area back in 1958.

Avis has met the Queen and when she was 85 she was presented with an award by Bradley Walsh. Although Avis has Dementia she can still read from her piano music, but plays by ear some wonderful tunes too.

Audrey thanked Avis very much for training her and the Residents clapped with joy when they had finished playing.

One Resident commented “we have all enjoyed listening to the lovely music that Avis has played for us. It was very relaxing”, whilst another said “we look forward to hearing many more piano tunes and have enjoyed our afternoon very much.”
