Playing communication games at Magna care homeA new communication game at Magna care home in Wigston, Leicestershire, has had a great response from Residents!

This afternoon, Residents Betty and Sylvia played the game ‘Call to Mind’. Players need to take it in turns to spin a wheel, whichever space the place lands on, they have to pick up a card and read the statement out to their opponent. Categories you could land on are present, past, active or creative.

Betty's Spin landed on the category ‘Creative’. Therefore, Sylvia read out the card to Betty which asked what Magazine do you like to read.

Betty responded with, “I have always liked to read ‘Women's Own’ it has some nice stories in it”. Then Sylvia spun the wheel and she landed on ‘Past’. Betty read out the card to Sylvia asking what TV cooking programs she enjoys watching.

Sylvia said, “Years ago I liked to watch Fanny Craddock… nowadays it’s Masterchef”.

Both residents thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Georgie Bailey, who organises these activities, commented, “You could see the concentration on their faces as they answered the questions from the card. Spinning the wheel to see what card they would be able to read out was their favourite part and they had a great afternoon.”
