Poppies at The Gables for Remembrance DayToday, Colleagues and Residents at The Gables care home in Whittlesey Cambridgeshire, chatted about Remembrance Day.

An activity was organised including painting poppies. Residents recalled watching poppy wreaths being laid by the Queen as they made theirs.

Everyone talked about the two minutes silence, and the bravery of all those in wartime. Muriel, pictured, commented about the "very brave men and women"

Residents enjoyed sitting together sociably chatting as they made poppies and recalling past times. When the poppies were made Colleagues displayed them around the home.

"We should remember them," commented Resident Ron (pictured).

Kathy, who lives at The Gables, remarked, "The poppies are very pretty, very good."

Home Manager, Helen Walters, said, “Well worth remembering and lovely to see the Residents engaged in something that meant so much to them.”
