Preparation for Bonfire Night by finishing the GuyThis week at Ashgrove care home, in Dudley, they finished their makeshift Guy for 5th November event this year.

After much fun with the Residents, the home’s Guy was finally unveiled in all his glory, (after many false starts such as his head falling off – much to the amusements of the Residents!)

Using balls of rolled up newspaper to make the Guy; which turned into a game of throwing the newspaper at Colleagues and each other which was rather funny! One Colleague said, “We all had a brainstorm over tea and biscuits then came up with the solution involving a pair of tights, cable ties, a football and some stickers – then ta-da! This made the Guy.”

All Residents were laughing. Allan Pollard, who lived at Ashgrove, said, “He won’t win any beauty contents.”

Another Resident, Doris Hughes, couldn’t stop laughing!

Carer Vickie, said, “What a great deal of fun! Everyone loved it.”

Mandy, a member of the domestic team, laughed, “I wouldn’t like to meet him in a dark alley!”
