Remembrance Day at Tameside care homeResidents at HC One’s The Beeches care home have been celebrating Remembrance Day.

This morning everyone at the Tameside care home enjoyed remembrance entertainment through a video link, with regular singer Samantha Jones.

Samantha put together a 30 minute singalong of 1940’s songs for the Residents including Vera Lynn, Glen Miller and many more. Everybody enjoyed the show and had a good sing song and waved their flags to remember our soldiers.

The home also held a 2 minutes silence and played the last post, everyone paid their respects. The morning finished with the reading of the poem ‘Flanders field’.

Remembrance was different this year but everyone enjoyed the morning and was very thankful for what had been organised.

Resident Mavis said “thank-you for organising this morning, it means a lot to us all”, and Norah commented “I have enjoyed this morning the singer she’s always good just what we needed and such a lovely remembrance.”

Wellbeing coordinator Sade said “everyone had a lovely morning remembering and enjoyed our singer. I was just glad I could give them something that means something to them all.”
